Easy Outfits For Mama

Style

Can I just say getting ready as a mom seems almost impossible and pointless at times? Well, it does. For the longest time I just wouldn't get ready because I didn't want to waste an outfit, waste my makeup, or waste my time. Being a mom with a sleep disorder that causes lack of energy, can be really hard at times. This is a huge reason why I never got ready. And let's face it, sleep disorder or not, simply being a mother can be tiring. Being too tired to do practically anything I needed to, I couldn't do everything and some things needed to go, the first being getting ready for the day. But then I realized something, my not getting ready and looking tired made me feel even more tired. It gave me an excuse to use every opportunity to hop right back into bed, because it looked like that was where I belonged. So, I decided to make a change. I decided to try and get at least somewhat ready most days of the week... even if I wasn't planning on going anywhere or seeing anyone. Making this simple change has made a huge difference in my day to day activities and responsibilities. When I look ready, I feel ready! Even though I am still tired, I am less likely to jump into bed, leave my house a mess, and not get anything done because I have already committed myself to the day by getting ready. It helps me feel more motivated to get as much done as I can, even if it is just a little. Not only that, but I feel more present for my son. I get him ready every day, so why shouldn't I get myself ready? I feel more willing to go outside with him because I'm not afraid of being seen in my pajamas. Now, this is not to say that everyone should be taking two hours out of each day to do full on makeup, full on hair, and full on outfits. But I do think there is a value as a stay-at-home mom in making ourselves presentable and ready for the day ahead of us. This can be hard, and so I've listed five outfit ideas below using some of the outfits I wore during my daily challenge to myself. What I love is that they are cute, comfortable, appropriate, and easy to play with my son in. They can be dressed up or down throughout the day depending what I am doing, now that to me makes the perfect kind of outfit for mama!

✔ MOM TIP:

I like to have jewelry picked out for each outfit. Usually what I do is wear them if I am going somewhere or seeing someone but if I am just at home I don't wear any so they don't get in the way of playing with Everett (or so he doesn't yank on them)

✔ MOM TIP:

I think the part I hate most in the morning is having to pick out my outfit. So, what I like to do to save time is pick out each outfit at the beginning of the week. This way I don't just give up and actually commit to wearing something besides pajamas each day.

✔ MOM TIP:

I like to make sure I can move easily in anything I wear so I'm not restricted when I'm playing with my son. Pants are key point for me on the comfort scale.
